Hokena Swim started with a dream and a text. I was in my last year at UCSD studying economics when I realized I didn’t want to follow the usual path. I texted my boyfriend I was starting a swimwear brand, something that has always been my lifelong dream. He said he wanted to be a part of it, and just like that, it became ours. The very next day, we got to work.

The name Hokena comes from a beach that holds a special place in our hearts, from when we lived on a coffee farm in Hawai'i. We’ve always loved the ocean and felt strongly about creating something that respects it. Every piece is handmade using sustainable fabrics and produced ethically. Because the prints fall slightly differently on each piece, no two suits are ever exactly the same. Each one is one of a kind, made to reflect the natural beauty and individuality we see in nature.

This brand is our love letter to the ocean, to slow fashion, and to chasing what feels right. We're so excited to share it with you.
